Llebeig cove Moraira

Cala Llebeig, Moraira / Benitachell

a place for locals, worth visiting at least once!

This secluded cove has something special and different from the other coves in the area.

Llebeig Cove MORAIRA

The only way to get to Cala Llebeig from Moraira is to walk down the Viuda ravine, approximately 25 minutes down and 35 minutes up.

It can also be reached from the Cumbre del Sol, also on foot, but the route is somewhat longer. But it can be worth it, as the views and scenery are fabulous. The path runs along the cliffs. In some sections it is somewhat dangerous as it is slippery, so be very careful if you are travelling with children.

We recommend you to be prepared with good footwear and a drink for hydration.

If you decide to spend the day in Cala Llebeig, we also advise you to bring some food.

Cala Llebeig in Benitachell-Moraira does not have any type of comfort or service, like the more urban beaches in the area.

Cala Llebeig is made of rock and boulders, with a length of 120m and a width of 10m. It has been declared a flora micro-reserve, with species such as the large orchid (Barlia robertiana), the sea gorse (Genista tricuspidata) and the Valencian bellflower (Convolvulus valentinus).

It is a pebble beach, but there are also flat areas, ideal for settling in and laying out your towels.

At the entrance we find the remains of the old carabinieri guard post, from where tobacco and cloth smuggling was controlled.

Cala Llebeig MORAIRA

Llebeig Cove is just different from the other beaches of Moraira and worth visiting!

One of the peculiarities of the Cala Llebeig in Benitachell-Moraira is that there are a series of small houses or constructions directly overlooking the sea, used by the local fishermen to leave their fishing gear and have shelter to sleep or spend the day.

If you go down to the cove in summer, especially at the weekend, it is very likely that one of these cottages is inhabited.

The local people are quite friendly and surely if you like can have a good time chatting with them.

The Llebeig cove in Benitachell-Moraira faces east, so it has sun from morning to midday, with shade in the afternoon.
