The fine sandy beach of El Portet, located in the municipality of Moraira, has an extension of 350 metres and an average width of 20 metres. It is considered one of the best beaches on the Costa Blanca for several reasons. Firstly for its crystal clear turquoise waters, more typical of rocky coves than sandy ones. The orography of this area, formed by the Cap d'Or cape as a wall that protects the western part from the waves, means that there are almost no waves, or they are very faint when they reach the beach.
It is an ideal place to take a swim in summer and to come with the children because of the low waves. It is also a good place to practice water sports such as snorkelling and scuba diving and to go kayaking or paddle surfing, both for its calm waters and its beautiful views.
El Portet has an entrance channel for small boats.
From El Portet beach we can take a short hike to the watchtower, which is located on the highest part of the peninsula that forms the Cap d'Or. From here we can enjoy marvellous views of the entire coastline. To the north we can see the whole area of rocky cliffs in the municipalities of Teulada, Benitachell, as far as Cabo de la Nao in Jávea. Looking south, we have the bay of Moraira which ends at Cap Blanc, and then we can see the majestic rock of Ifach and in the background the Sierra Gelada mountain range.
Being a semi-urban beach, El Portet beach in Moraira, Costa Blanca have all kinds of services: lifeguard, foot showers, toilets, security, bars, restaurants and a beautiful promenade. Further more the beach of El Portet Moraira has a public car park very close to the beach.
Although in high season the level of occupation is very high as it is a small beach, in mid and low season it is a charming and charming place, a highly recommended beach for families with children.
El Portet beach is so beautiful that it is very common to see boats that decide to anchor in its calm crystalline waters.
